We like this place overall but the bathrooms/showers for tent campers are the worst of any place we’ve ever been. For as many visitors as they get this is embarrassing. We visited over Memorial Day weekend and this particular shower had a removable head/wand that was leaking but they had duct taped. It was barely functional then but sufficed. We returned in August thinking they surely would have replaced it but instead they just removed it leaving this laughable option for a shower. You can just imagine how difficult it was to get all the soap off those private areas and as a woman forget washing your hair. Won’t be going back as tent campers. It’s fine if you have an RV with full hook-ups or don’t like to shower after a day in the lake.
I could never say enough good things about Lake Camanche. We recently held a Celebration of Life at the Blue Oaks group site at the North Shore and it was the absolute perfect setting to celebrate our beloved son/brother/nephew/cousin/uncle/friend. The camp sites were extremely well taken care of, the lake is absolutely stunning and the staff truly went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was as enjoyable as possible given the circumstances. I highly recommend booking your visit to this true California gem!
We had a blast coming out to stay at the campsites this year. It was just beautiful. Our family all came down to stay for the weekend, take the new boat out, and do some swimming and fishing. When we ran into some issues with the engine, …
Lake and camp sites are nice however the traffic speed on the corner of Bret Hart and Launch Plana Rd are driving way to fast for the sites to be right up against this road. Most go 50 MPH, with dogs and children present. Speed bumps are a nuisance but MUCH NEEDED!
Absolute worst camping in California! The type of people that come here dont have a clue what "basic camping etiquette" is. We paid for water front site and people completely walked all over our site and set up on the water in the site we paid for completely blocking our view and access to the water. These people wipe their feet on your rugs outside your tent and camper. They drop trash in your fire pit. Staff wont do anything about it.
Had a fun time even with the heat. We had 20 family members between a few sites and right on the water. Love the peninsula camping best. Friendly, clean, store with goodies, food and even ice cream. Toilets cleaned daily too! |Showers …
I had a great time! Fair warning there is a MASSIVE roach infestation. I mean everywhere. I think it's wild no other reviews mentioned it. I saw none during the day but I camped in south south and the roaches when the sun whent down was so disgusting. You couldn't walk around with stepping on them. We had a water fountain in our site and there were probably 50+ just at the water alone. It was pretty repulsive. Other then that the water was so warm, camp site was clean, everything was great!

Took my dogs for a walk Very nice .only complaint I got is dogs are not allowed in the hiking trails which they should be allowed since they charge entry per dog and persons.
